We have also been involved in large loan recovery schemes and litigation for banks and the Non-Performing Assets Recovery Trust.

Land and Property
This department represents individuals, corporate entities, and public institutions in a wide range of land and property transactions and claims. Our core practice areas include transfer conveyancing, leasing, titling, boundary adjustments, land acquisition, and resolving disputes related to ownership or occupancy.
KBW Advocates has developed a strong reputation for its work in repossession claims, particularly those concerning properties belonging to members of the Asian community expelled in the early 1970s during the regime of Idi Amin. Many of these properties were unjustly taken over by the government. Our firm has successfully led efforts to reclaim and return numerous properties to their rightful owners, navigating complex legal, historical, and administrative challenges.
In addition to our repossession work, we provide strategic legal guidance on real estate investments, commercial developments, land due diligence, and regulatory compliance with land laws in Uganda. Our team is adept at handling high-value and high-stakes property matters with professionalism and discretion.
Civil and Litigation
This department handles a broad spectrum of civil matters and claims that do not arise from commercial, corporate, or land and property transactions. Our team provides legal representation in cases involving negligence, torts, accidents, and domestic-related claims. KBW Advocates has extensive experience in managing personal injury cases, defamation suits, breach of duty claims, family-related litigation, and other general civil disputes.
We offer strategic advice and representation throughout all stages of litigation—from pleadings and pre-trial preparation to hearings and appeals. In addition to court-based advocacy, we actively support clients in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
We are committed to efficient, cost-effective, and just outcomes, whether inside the courtroom or in out-of-court settlements. Our Civil and Litigation team is known for its rigorous attention to detail, strong advocacy, and ability to navigate complex procedural environments with integrity and determination.
